People
Engine Yard provides staff 24 hours a day. The hosting facilities maintain a very high standard of physical security with all access restricted by card access with 24x7 video surveillance, and is regularly patrolled by security personnel. In the event that an issue arises with the hardware that runs PianoScheduler, PianoScheduler staff can liase with data center staff on the ground to resolve issues and where required PianoScheduler can swiftly move to restore the secondary backup site.
Data Storage
The PianoScheduler database is hosted on 2 replicated Database servers which are both attached to a Storage Area Network, so your data is managed on a fully redundant hardware platform where there is no single point of failure. These storage systems accommodate multiple hard disks and are fault tolerant. In the event of a hard disk failure, the system will keep working with no data loss. The hard disks can be hot-swapped meaning that a technician can replace a faulty drive while the storage system is still working without data loss.
Back-ups and Recovery
Your business and financial data is very important and we have several mechanisms in place to ensure that should a disaster occur, we can recover quickly with minimal disruption to your PianoScheduler service.
Automated Off-site Back-ups
All PianoScheduler customer data is automatically backed-up on to a Storage Area Network (SAN) in the data center where the servers that run PianoScheduler are located. To further protect PianoScheduler from a disaster that could occur in the data centre, every 4 hours all your data is sent securely to a secondary back-up data centre, located in a different city. This ensures that we can recover from a major disaster in a reasonable timeframe with very minimal data loss if any.
